At this year's ITMA Asia+CITME exhibition, DyStar will once again showcase its development to facilitate greener manufacturing of textile and apparel products, according to Simon Collinson, Head of Global Business Development, Dystar.
ATA: ATA Journal Mr Collinson: Simon Collinson
ATA: What are the major exhibits of your company?
Mr Collinson: We will be highlighting again Ecology and Environment and the econfidence program that DyStar has pioneered in response to the need for cleaner textiles, which is being driven by the leading retailers and brands.
We will also be outlining our offer to the automotive sector, which should attract much interest considering the unprecedented growth in car sales in the mainland (China) market.
In addition we will be presenting an overview of how DyStar sees its future in terms of core values, product offer and services.
ATA: What is the 2010-2011 outlook for the industrial sector or market segment your company is operating in/associated with?
Mr Collinson: After the turbulent times of the past couple of years which brought many challenges to all players in the dyestuff industry, the fog has begun to clear as global economies pick-up and confidence starts to return to the retail sector. The rapidly growing consumer market in China should also support demand for dyes and chemicals but nevertheless Global overcapacities remain which at some point will need to be worked down.
ATA: Where can visitors learn more about DyStar at ITMA Asia+CITME 2010.
Mr Collinson: We’ll be delighted to meet visitors at E3 A02 at the exhibition.
ATA: How many times have you visited Shanghai/China? Or, how long have you been living in Shanghai/China?
Mr Collinson: I’ve lived in Shanghai for 10 years now.
Visitors to Shanghai can enjoy a day of greenness in a golf club | ATA: Please name a restaurant you like in Shanghai? Address, price level (from 1-5), reason(s) you like it.
Mr Collinson: Dehli Darbar at No.5, Lane 3338 Hongmei Lu, Gubei/Hongqiao, near Yan'an Xi Lu.
The price is scored 2 out 5 — great value for money, personal service where nothing is too much trouble - love Indian food!
ATA: Please recommend a place to visit / an activity to do / an item to buy in Shanghai.
Mr Collinson: Great golf in and around Shanghai with a host of well-kept and challenging courses.
