Following Zara from Spain, Gap from the US, H&M from Sweden, and C&A from Germany are also paving their way to enter China.
It is said that these global apparel brands have already selected the venue for their shops, hoping to unveil their first shops in China by the end of this year.
The industry expects that the accession of foreign casual wear brands into China will intensify the already keen competition, and pose new challenges to conventional retail businesses.
It is reported that the Zara store just opened in Shanghai this February accomplished a sales of RMB800,000 in March, which is a double of the monthly average sales at traditional department stores.
