As textile machinery builders are increasingly directing their gaze to the Asian markets, during the show period of ShanghaiTex 2009, Trützschler introduced a number of new machinery to users in the region.

The latest Card TC5-1 was on display, featuring compact in size and lower energy consumption due to a new drive design. With stable quality and a good price-performance ratio, this model is offered at a competitive price among international machine builders, said Harald Schoepp, General Manager of Trützschler (Shanghai).

Assembled in Qingpu, Shanghai, with some local parts, the Card TC5-1 is manufactured with the same quality requirements in Germany, so as the design and research and development efforts made with it.

Another exhibit highlight was the new foreign part separator, Securoprop SP-FP, which contains the full functionality of the proven Securomat, but also has a module for polypropylene and foil detection, plus a new module for the selective separation of light and transparent foreign parts with minimum fibre loss.

"Holding a leading position in the field of carding machinery and other areas, we will grow the business further through the penetration into the medium segment in China, as well as the Asian region, including Vietnam and India. With Trützschler Card Clothing, we will also seek to increase the market share in wire card clothing, an important part for carding that is expected to have a good future in China," noted Mr Schoepp.

Market-wise, he observed the market pick-ups in the last two months and was surprised to meet a larger-than-expected visitor flow at this year's Shanghaitex fair, including decision-makers who showed interests of machines on display.

He predicted that positive signs would continue in the reminder of the year and the business might further return in 2010.
