Kern-Liebers has been widening its range of needles catered for the knitting industry, aiming to develop a complete range.
Working closely with major machine builders, the company offers more than 40,000 different types of knitting elements worldwide, with about 8,000 standard types readily available from stock.
Its manufacturing programme comprises loop forming elements such as sinkers, jacks, selectors, sliders, wall inserts and precision components for large diameter circular machines, seamless hosiery machines, flat bed machines, single cylinder sock machines, double cylinder sock machines, fully fashioned machines (cotton frames) and weaving looms.
Josef Hetzel, area sales manager, said the company's partners in the knitting industry were doing fine despite the slow market.
In China, he said, a turnaround could be expected earlier, as there were signs of recovery in the last few months. "We'll have a clearer picture in the next three months, as demands usually dip after the Lunar New Year (in January)," he said.
