The Indian Textile Minister, Thiru Dayanidhi Maran, visited Rieter Machine Works Ltd. in Winterthur, Switzerland, in late September.
Erwin Stoller, Executive Chairman of the Rieter Group, could therefore welcome many Rieter customers. Together with the CEO of Rieter Textile Systems, Peter Gnägi, he showed the visitors round the customer spinning center and the training center. He emphasized the importance of the Indian market for Rieter and presented Rieter's commitment to establishing production plants as well as in the areas of sales and service in India.
In his speech, given at a mutual dinner, the Textile Minister acknowledged Rieter's key role in the stormy development experienced by the Indian spinning industry. With its high-quality products, Rieter makes an important contribution to strengthening the image of Indian textile products. He called on Rieter to further strengthen its commitment in India and to actively support the global competitiveness of the local textile industry through market-conform and innovative products.
Rieter was one of the stops on his trip through Europe, Turkey and Switzerland. The various meetings with political bodies and other associations as well as selected suppliers to India of modern technologies were used by the Minister to enlist support for direct investments in India. He was accompanied by a delegation of Indian politicians, members of various associations and textile industrialists.
