Mitsubishi & Asahi ethylene plant integration to be delayed

Mitsubishi Chemical Holdings Corp and Asahi Kasei Corp which had planned to integrate operations of their respective ethylene plants in Okayama Prefecture from April have been delayed.

The two petrochemical majors had made the announcement of the integration of operations of two plants located in the Okayama Prefecture in April last year. The combined ethylene capacity of both plants is 890,000 tons and merger was planned to meet the glut in demand of derivatives of ethylene.
