Held in Singapore on November 23-26, 2010, the 8th Asia Apparel and Textile Machinery Exhibition (AAMA-TEX) drew strong response from the region's leading textile and garment industry players, its organizer said.
Organized by Textile & Fashion Federation (TaFf) and Sewing Machine Traders Association (SMTAS), the show attracted over 200 exhibitors from 17 countries to present their latest product offerings and capabilities to 1,890 visitors from 41 countries. Senior Minister of State for Trade and Industry, S Iswaran lauded ASEAN textile and garment producers for setting up the Source ASEAN Full Service Alliance (SAFSA) initiative to promote ASEAN as a full-service supply chain leader in the global textile and garment market.
"These partnerships seek to maximize efficiencies along the ASEAN textile and apparel industry supply chain and set high standards in production quality and value-added services," he said.
The collaboration among the region's leading textile and garment players was seen at AAMA-TEX 2010, according to organizer. ASEAN Federation of Textile Industries (AFTEX) country heads congregated at the exhibition to discuss cooperation and challenges affecting the development of the garment and textile industry.
