Cotton Incorporated to present innovations in Hong Kong
Cotton Incorporated from USA presented a forum in Hong Hong in mid-May to promote its cotton fabric/garment finishing technologies to the textile supply chain.
The forum, "Cotton Sourcing Connexions", brought together a group of companies including fabric/garment mills based in South East/North East Asia and China that had successfully adopted Cotton Incorporated technologies and Asian-based global brands/retailers/sourcing companies, according to Katsuro Ishida, Cotton Incorporated Senior Director, Global Product Supply Chain.
Cotton Incorporated's event also offered updated information on the global market, fashion trend, cotton product sourcing opportunities, benefits of using US cotton (i.e. Cotton USA program) as well as technical developments done by Cotton Incorporated.
"The global economy has had its effect on the textile industry across all of Asia. By adopting into innovative cotton technologies, to upgrade the products' features, it is a powerful way to keep standing tall in the uncertain economic trend," said Mark Messura, Cotton Incorporated Executive Vice President, Global Product Supply Chain.
During the two-day program, the manufactuers will showcase their successful adoptions on cotton innovations. The technical experts from Cotton Incorporated will also share technology experience with attendants. "Technology will be the tool that builds cotton industry's sustainable future, and sustainable development will remain the guilding principle of our industry," added Mr Messura.
Huntsman presents new dye bath penetration agent
Hunstman Textile Effects launched Albaflow UNI-01, a new highly efficient, silicon and mineral oil free penetration accelerant, versatile in application for dyeing natural and synthetic fibers. It provides wetting, de-foaming and de-aerating performance, according to the company.
The new agent's main strength lies mainly in supporting dye-bath penetration. Numerous other characteristics bring a range of benefits to the dyeing process. Being silicon oil free, there is no risk of spotting on the fabric or residue on the machinery, both of which can be costly for the dyer. Foamless processing is another added value Albaflow UNI-01 contribution. Its efficacy lies in inhibiting foaming, which would normally develop and negatively impact liquor and goods circulation thereby causing tangles and spots, the company says
