The wave of digital technology has changed the world in a big way. Moving from analog to digital, various textile sectors are in some way being affected by the adoption of digital technologies. The footprints of digital applications can now be found throughout the textile supply chain. "Feature story" highlights how digital technology simplifies and at the same time complicates the textile supply chain with enhanced information flow.
An avenue for technology showcase, CITME 2006 (the 10th China International Textile Machinery Exhibition) will open its doors on October 17 at the China International Exhibition Center in Beijing. “CITME Preview” features a multitude of textile machine models to be offered at the show.
While many overseas textile machinery suppliers are flocking into China during the last decade, textile machine builders in Mainland China and Taiwan are also striving to make a mark in the international market. Their progress on product research and development is reported in the “Greater China Supplement”.
Statistics show that Mainland China exported US$2.311 billion worth of textile machines in the first half of this year, representing an increase of 11.43% year-on-year. And from Taiwan, some US$448.77 million worth of textile machines were shipped in the first five months this year.
Meanwhile, “Italian Supplement” gives an update on the latest movements of the Italian textile machinery industry. Seeing the market potential of technical textiles, Italian machine suppliers are rolling out extensive promotional campaigns in China and the US.
